Europe Meets America

Europe meets America

Christopher Columbus was not the first to cross the Atlantic to reach America. When he  accidentally landed in 1492, the discovery made explorers sail to search for gold. This changed the land forever. Many explorers invaded the the land with greed and treated the natives cruelly. Some believed a legend about a city of gold in El,Dorado. Others believed there was a magical  fountain of youth. The Spanish eventually claimed most of the southwestern U.S.A . Over time, Native Americans all over were being pushed off their continent by Europeans.

Christopher Columbus

Christopher Columbus

In the 1400s, Europeans wanted riches from the east Indies. Christopher Columbus believed the earth was round so he could reach the east by sailing west. He repetitively coaxed the king and queen to give him three ships to sail in the sea of darkness. The people thought the sea was too wide to cross or he would be eerily eaten by sea monsters. On October 12, 1952, the sailors spotted land. When they were ashore, men very different from Europeans emerged from the bushes. Columbus called them Indians and thought he was in the Indies. He had reached a place Europeans knew nothing about-the Americas.

One day, a baby boy was born. Two weeks later, armies come to kill all the boys. The mother puts the baby in a basket and she runs to the river with the basket. His mother put him in the river. Then the princess found him and kept him and called him

Moses. The princess asked Moses's mom to come help raise him but for she did not know that was his mom. After Moses grew up, he saw a Hebrew beating a slave and then he killed him and ran away and found a bush on fire but it wasn't burning and he went to see it then God spoke to him I am the great I am and you shall tell Pharaoh to let my people go and Moses went. Pharaoh  said no many times and the punishment got worst and worst finally he said the people could go and they went. there was a river Moses parted the river. Pharaoh's men were behind them but they got away just in time and Pharaoh got wiped out.
